(The shorter the better. Are just 'kio se' and 'nur se' enough to express these? )

(Not only nominalizing a verb, but also there has to be an object for that action. Yet, that action itself shoud be the subject in the sentence..)

Other ways to say it are "estas pli bone, ke vi ne faru tion" or "tio ne farindas".
"Kio se" and "nur se" are fine for "what if" and "only if".
For "~ing (something) is ~" it would be in the form of "fari tion estas plezure".

apriliss:Depending on the concrete case i'd say that the Esperanto infinitive is not always the best equivilant for this. Sometimes i'd prefer to use the durative, i.e. -ad-.
