Ĉiuj and ĉiu

Hey,

Can I have some rules when to use one or the other? I keep switching between them arbitrarily and realised I have no clue when to use one or the other.

I think it's better to use ĉiu as "each" and ĉiuj as "all". This way, you get a superior distinction. Here's a pair of examples I like to use to justify having both words.

1. Li donis katon al ĉiu de la virinoj = He gave a cat to each of the women (= many cats in total).

1. Li donis katon al ĉiuj de la virinoj = He gave a cat to all the woman (= only one cat).

That would be "ĉiu el la virinoj", like in the Ekzercaro:

Fundamenta Ekzercaro:al ĉiu el la infanoj mi donis po tri pomoj

That would be "ĉiu el la virinoj", like in the Ekzercaro:

Why not keeping things simple, that also has the advantage to avoid stupid mistakes:

Li donis katon al ĉiu virino.
al ĉiu infano mi donis po tri pomoj
...
